2013 Familia Mayol - Malbec Lucjan de Cuya

2013 Familia Mayol - Malbec Lucjan de Cuya

Region: Argentina, Mendoza

Grape: Malbec

Tasting notes (from the winemaker):  Intense red violet color. Medium-bodied Malbec. Cherry, mulberry and cassis linger with sweet toast aromas. Spice and mineral notes on a long and fresh finish. Good typical varietal character combined with earthy.

From the winemaker: Single Vineyard Wines. Our fincas are located in Mendoza, Argentina, at the foot of the Andes Mountains. Familia Mayol owns 247 acres (100 hectares), from which only a few lots are picked to make our wines. Our grapes are cultivated in soils with low vigour. Each lot is meticulously supervised throughout the year to achieve maximum quality. Low yields, small berries and homogeneity are key in the search for a balance of aromas and structure in our wines. Environment is very important to us: all our fincas are managed under sustainable and environmentally friendly farming practices.
